To become a SANE, you must:

• Be a licensed registered nurse (RN)
• Complete SANE-specific training, including coursework and clinical practice
• Gain experience in forensic evidence collection and survivor-centered care

To get started as a SANE you must take the  SANE specific training that includes 40 hours of didactic education followed by clinical practice to gain hands-on experience.
