Carolyn Cordle
Carolyn serves as the President and CEO of SANE Healthcare Services, a leading community-based forensic nursing program in Kansas City, Missouri. With nearly two decades of experience, she has both worked in and owned community-based forensic nursing programs, establishing herself as a recognized leader in building sustainable, high-impact models of care. Throughout her career, she has conducted over 500 forensic examinations and has been instrumental in advancing the field through education, program development, and clinical leadership.
Carolyn has trained countless nurses in Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) care and co-developed an immersive, hands-on training program in partnership with the University of Missouri–Kansas City, which earned first place at the International Association of Forensic Nurses (IAFN) 2011 poster presentation.
Her influence extends beyond clinical practice. Carolyn has worked closely with the Missouri Attorney General’s Office in the development and implementation of Sexual Assault Kit Initiative (SAKI) processes and continues to collaborate on legislative efforts aimed at improving the statewide response to sexual assault. Her work has helped shape policies, strengthen compliance, and enhance outcomes for survivors across Missouri.
Her contributions have been widely recognized, earning honors such as Forensic Nurse of the Year, Education Article of the Year, and Publication of the Year. She has also co-authored peer-reviewed research and served in leadership roles with IAFN, local Sexual Assault Response Teams (SART), and forensic nursing advocacy organizations.
As an executive, Carolyn combines visionary leadership with hands-on expertise, guiding organizations through growth while maintaining a strong focus on mission, quality, and sustainability. She is deeply committed to building systems that not only perform—but make a lasting difference.
A respected innovator and systems leader, Carolyn remains deeply committed to advancing forensic healthcare through education, collaboration, and policy-driven change. Her work continues to strengthen access to trauma-informed, evidence-based care for survivors across the communities she serves. She resides in Kansas City, Missouri, with her husband, four children, and six grandchildren.

Tonya Vega

Tonya is a seasoned leader in emergency and forensic nursing, with over a decade of experience dedicated to advancing sexual assault care and nursing practice. As Chief Nursing Executive at SANE Healthcare, she oversees program development and implementation, driving clinical excellence and shaping best practices that improve outcomes for survivors.
A board-certified emergency nurse and Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) since 2013, Tonya combines clinical expertise with a deep commitment to patient advocacy. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from St. Luke's College of Nursing & Health Science, and has spent her career supporting survivors with both medical care and forensic insight during some of their most vulnerable moments.
Beyond patient care, Tonya is a passionate mentor and advocate for nurses entering the field of forensic nursing. She works to ensure providers are confident, competent, and empowered to deliver trauma-informed, survivor-centered care.

Danielle Johnson

Danielle Johnson serves as the Director of Communications and Strategy at SANE Healthcare Services, where she synchronizes organizational growth with a deep-rooted commitment to trauma-informed advocacy. A retired United States Navy Senior Chief (YNCS), Danielle brings over 21 years of leadership experience forged in high-accountability operational environments.
During her distinguished naval career, Danielle served as a certified Equal Opportunity Advisor (EOA), providing strategic counsel to executive command leadership on personnel management and workforce culture. Her work was instrumental in analyzing patterns of sexual harassment and assault within military structures. By implementing data-driven, prevention-focused measures, she worked to interrupt the continuum of harm, strengthen reporting integrity, and cultivate safer, more resilient workplace environments.
Before joining the SANE Healthcare leadership team, Danielle was the Director of Business Development (West Coast) for Favorite Healthcare Staffing. At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, she spearheaded critical workforce campaigns that stabilized healthcare systems across multiple markets, ensuring operational continuity and reinforcing vital partnerships during a period of global crisis.
Today, Danielle leads SANE Healthcare’s strategic communications, brand development, and growth initiatives. She focuses on expanding the reach of forensic nursing services by aligning outreach and long-term development with a survivor-centered mission. Her work ensures that the organization’s messaging reflects its core values: delivering expert care and driving systemic improvements in the response to trauma.
Danielle holds a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership from Chapman University. She resides in San Diego, California, with her husband and their four adult children.

Britni Kalbfleisch
Britni serves as the Chief Relations Officer for SANE Healthcare Services, where she leads strategic partnerships, stakeholder engagement, and organizational growth initiatives. With a strong foundation in forensic nursing, Britni brings a unique blend of clinical experience and relationship-building expertise that strengthens collaboration across hospitals, community partners, and multidisciplinary teams.
Britni holds a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice Administration as well as a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), providing her with a well-rounded perspective that bridges both the healthcare and justice systems. She has been deeply involved in Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) training for multiple years, serving as both a student and an educator in the clinical component of the program. Her hands-on experience in training and mentorship has contributed to the development of competent, confident forensic nurses and has supported the expansion of high-quality forensic care across the region.
In addition, Britni oversees all nurse credentialing for the organization, ensuring full compliance with hospital requirements, state regulations, and program standards. Her attention to detail and commitment to regulatory excellence play a critical role in maintaining the integrity and readiness of the clinical team.
Known for her ability to build trust and foster meaningful partnerships, Britni plays a key role in ensuring seamless program implementation and ongoing engagement with healthcare systems, advocacy organizations, and community stakeholders. Her commitment to education, collaboration, and service excellence continues to strengthen the organization’s impact and reach.

Starlyn Ritter

Starlyn is a Registered Nurse with over 25 years of clinical and educational expertise spanning sexual assault nursing, emergency care, and clinical education. She is deeply committed to advancing nursing practice through high-quality patient care, process improvement, and evidence-based education.
At SANE Healthcare Services, Starlyn plays a pivotal role in the development and implementation of the TeleSANE program. She collaborates with stakeholders to expand access to forensic nursing services and strengthen TeleSANE education, all aimed at improving outcomes for sexual assault patients.
A skilled educator and program designer, Starlyn develops clinical education and professional development programs that prepare healthcare professionals for the complexities of forensic nursing. She brings a strategic lens to curriculum design, ensuring educational frameworks reflect best practices in professional growth.
Beyond her clinical education leadership, Starlyn is a Legal Nurse Consultant, providing expert analysis of medical records and offering testimony in both nursing care and forensic cases. Her cross-disciplinary insight enhances interprofessional collaboration and bridges gaps in the healthcare and legal systems.
Starlyn holds a Master of Arts in Non-Profit Administration from Lindenwood University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Central Methodist University. She is Board-Certified as an Emergency Nurse (CEN) and Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner-Adult
(SANE-A), exemplifying her dedication to excellence and advocacy in nursing practice.
A dedicated professional and advocate, Starlyn is also a wife and mother of three, residing in Rosebud, Missouri.
